Hello all,

it's time to introduce myself, as the board always politely reminds me to do :).

I'm a Linux user for 3 years now. I started with Debian Woody when it was still fresh, then when it wasn't anymore I switched to Debian Sid last year. But being the paranoid coward that I am, I always updated my system with a pounding heart, because Debian Sid might, and sometimes even is supposed to, break.

So, after struggling with myself for a year, I finally gave Ubuntu a try some days ago, and it proves to be the just what I was hoping for: a pretty recent Debian based system that is stable enough for me to avoid sweaty palms while installing software ;).

I'm a web developer by trade, and thanks to the very good documentation that is available I got all my tools up and running in Breezy without much tinkering (Firefox 1.5, text editor, Apache, MySQL, PHP, and even the Internet Explorers in Wine to test my sites on).

Ubuntu is a pleasure to work with, thanks to all the people who make this possible!

Moin arctic,

quite appropriate, since I'm in the northernmost part of Germany where this greeting is very popular.

I'm feeling at home now. :D
