Hello,

New here, long time DOS, Windows user....

I have downloaded the ATI Video Driver from softpedia file
ati-driver-installer-8-11-x86.x86_64.run and now not sure how to install this in place of the current driver. I'm currently running with the ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver. Could you please explain how to uninstall and run the new driver?

Here is a link to the new driver

I'm also not sure if I meet the requirements listed

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to answer. I have to be honest though this is a little difficult to follow. Do the directions under the repositories for 8.04 apply?
