Hi all

i am going to upgrade to ubuntu 8.10 but i was unsure about if My Nvidia Riva TNT2 Graphics Card would work. I have been using it in 8.04 using the drivers Envy gave me and everything worked.

However if i upgrade will i get display problems or will i just use the free nv and lose 3D capability.

i don't mind losing 3D but my system has to be stable

Should i upgrade and will i experience any problems

Nvidia has just within the last week or two update the legacy drivers, that older graphics adapters need, they are now in the repositories. But as the previous poster said why upgrade unless you need a module that isn't in Hardy.

It's is my personal opinion, that if you do want to update to Intrepid, it is much better to do a clean installation, then to use the upgrade path.
