Does it work with Amarok, or should I install iTunes in Wine?

I'm about to install Kubuntu to my friend's dv9000 and I'm curious if there are any known problems with drivers or anything.

My experience using a jailbroken 2.1 firmware ipod touch and Kubuntu 8.10 is not so good.
When I plug in the ipod I can see some action going on in the terminal but nothing happens in kde. I can't even see it as a hard drive.
I read that other people have made it work, still trying here...

for now the ipod touch and the iphone will not work via a USB cable. You can jailbreak the iPod and then install ssh and BSD subsystem so that it can then be mounted using wifi and then most media players will work with it (Amork, banshee, gtkpod, ...)
