Does apt-get update/upgrade notify you if the server will need to be rebooted?
I was just wondering because I have a 8.04 LTS desktop that notifies me that I'll need to restart the system for certain updates, but with the same updates on my 8.04 LTS server, it doesn't tell me that the server will need to be restarted. Now that I think about it, I don't recall if apt-get notifies of a server restart even after a kernel upgrade. Could anyone confirm?
It's not a big deal since I can always cron the restarts on the server to execute over the weekends, but I would sure like to know. I tried searching already but nothing came up for me. Thanks.
