need to convert to wmv with ffmpeg

I need to convert avi to wmv to play on Real Player
I am using Ubuntu 7.10

It's the only player my mother in law gets at work, I think it's version 11
I'm using the standard linux realplayer 11 for testing.
Is there a standalone hack for vlc so she wouldn't have to install it?

Is she using Ubuntu? If so, installing vlc (or mplayer) is easily done through clicking System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager.

According to the FAQ I posted previously, RM, RA, RAM are the original Real Player formats.

You might get a lot of messages
