Ubunteros,

I have a Compaq Pentium II PC. Will Ubuntu install on it or is something better available?

Perhaps a water down version?

Thanks

Maybe xubuntu but not ubuntu. It is better to install archlinux or gentoo for that hardware in my opinion.

I'll have to look up the memory question. Can Arch Linux do email, word processing and Internet?

How easy is it to install?

arch linux will do everything that you could need. for a new user it could be quite difficult but then other people have said that if you read the guide its not that hard.

this link has a review of some lightweight distro's
