Sound Card for Ubuntu and XP

I have a desktop machine that is running XP. It has a dead sound card. I want to install Hardy and keep XP. Is there a card I can use that will support both installations.

I also have a laptop that ran vista when I got it Now it runs Hardy. The sound card is a Intel Corporation 82801G which is now running in Hardy.
Could I reconfigure to use another OS like that, but configure XP and Hardy to use the same card. Any ideas.
