Well i am a person who used to program using C# and C++ in VS.net 2005 and now that i am shifting to Ubuntu i want to know is VS.net 2005 compitable with ubuntu 5.10? and if not can i use WINE to run it from windows installed one or should i just leave it. In the last case which IDE is best for .net development available in linux and where to download it?

MonoDevelop is probably the best .NET IDE on Linux, you can get it through apt after enabling the universe and multiverse repos.

sudo apt-get install monodevelop
But Monodevelop is buggy as hell.

I checked yesterday and yes, Visual Studio does work under wine (of course with a couple issues, none big though) visit www.winehq.org , the databse, to find out more.
