I saw a website once where you could install ubuntu applications by clicking on links. It was very clean and had a lot of applications listed for use with apt-url links.

Do you know the url?

Unfortunately no. Instead of .deb files, there is functionality that is built into ubuntu that has special links of the form (apt-url I think). So for instance, the url is apt-url install firefox or whatever, and then synaptic is automatically called up to install.

Check out the previous link, but you may be talking about OzOS's apt:foo (http://cafelinux.org/OzOs/node/3).
