I am installing Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10 alternative i386 onto an eeePC 1000 from a pen drive.

The installation goes well, until I have to specify an archive mirror. No mirror works, despite a functioning cable connection to the Internet. I am stuck in a loop trying to find an archive with a functioning valid Release file.

What should I do?

I receive the following error message:

Choose a mirror of the Ubuntu archive
Bad archive mirror
The specified Ubuntu archive mirror is either not available, or does not have a valid Release file on it. Please try a different mirror.

So, did it finish installing?

Hi, taurus!

The installation does not continue. Perhaps modules for the eeePC are missing.
