I just recently switched to Ubuntu I think it is awesome but over the weeks I've noticed that all my mp3s are being eaten away by some invisible force. When I got my mp3s they were very good quality but after a couple of weeks I noticed that the quality was degrading. When I used Windows this had never happened. Is there anyway to bring back the quality? If not then does that mean I'll have to get my mp3s all over again? And why is this happening in Ubuntu and not in Windows?

I have also noticed this. It only seems to happen to MP3s (not Oggs). But, WHY? And how can it be fixed? Is each tune being re-encoded periodically or on playback or something? Recently my copy of Kaiser Chiefs' Off With Their Heads has come a cropper. The whole album has seemingly been corrupted, meaning that Never Miss A Beat is now definitely missing several beats and Good Days And Bad Days is clearly having a bad day. HELP!!! Sorry, but I enjoy singing along to a tune, and can't when it can't keep its own beat and rhythm.:(
