theme questions, can you help?

hi, i see lots of things about cairo and dapper, i even have a cd with cairo-1.0.2.tar.gz and pycairo-1.0.2.tar.gz can i just install them and i'll have a new theme? or are they a family of themes or something?

is it the same as installing from this (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=89056&highlight=sandbox) link? i can install or do i need to complie something first for it to work?

also, do you know a good dock or program launcher? so my desktop will look like a mac - with a dock at the bottom and a panel at the top. i installed gdesklets which has Starterbar, but i want to get the same thing as is in this (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/preview.php?preview=2&id=31128&file1=31128-1.jpg&file2=31128-2.jpg&file3=31128-3.jpg&name=Gentle+Gnome&PHPSESSID=94037f1a14bb3b3949d734ab734372a2) picture at the bottom of the screen, do you know what it is? thanks :)

For a fairly slick (and very easy to hack) launcher, have a look at pogo:

It's incredibly system light and has a lot of useful under the hood features.

thanks, dare2dreamer i downloaded but during the install it says i need the imlib Tarball from here:
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/imlib/1.9/

should i get:
imlib-1.9.0.tar.gz 13-Jan-1999 04:05 646K

or can i get the top one:
LATEST-IS-1.9.15 24-Sep-2004 16:45 881K

if it's LATEST-IS-1.9.15 do you have any idea how to install it? thanks

hi, it doesn't matter, i just tried that odd archive and it's not support so i'm going to install the imlib from 1999.

can anyone tell me about the link below? can i just install it or do i have to have something else like enlightenment or something? thanks

hi, i just installed pogo and when the install finished it told me it was in my home dirctory and it gave me the command to run it, so i put the command on my clip-board but when i went to paste it it was gone :mad: can someone tell me the command to run it and were it is? i did a seach for it and all that was found in my home directory was the stuff from the install :mad: can you help me, please? thanks
