This is no longer happening as I've reinstalled Kubuntu since then, but on my original installation, when asked for my password, it would reject my password after about two-three seconds, which made it impossible to type in my password as it was a combo of caps and numbers.

My password was 10 characters long, hence I was unable to use the command.

I just want to know why that happened, if anyone knows.

What do you mean it rejected your password that contained both caps and numbers since I have cap and numbers in my password too? Did it work, excepting your password, before and then suddenly stopped?

it did something like this:

(I'm typing) Starmox0
sorry please try again.

(I try again)
Starm
sorry please try again

I was in the middle of typing when this happened. I couldn't get all the way through my password because it would just reject it and tell me to try again. I did not hit enter or anything, and if I simply let it sit it would reject it as well.
