View Full Version : [ubuntu] New to ubuntu and wireless

I just got ubuntu 8.10 on my laptop and I don't see any wireless icon and I cannot connect. I looked up my wireless card and it says it is a intel wireless proset 3945agb. My laptop is a toshiba m105-s3074. can someone help me? i am new to this.

Firstly you need the driver for your wireless card. Assuming that it is avaliable, go to system>administration>hardware drivers and you should be prompted with the appropriate wireless driver. Install the driver, and report back with the result!

IF the driver is not available, you can install the ndiswrapper, of which can be used to run the windows driver for the wireless card. see here:

i am having a horrible time finding the driver for it. my id is 8086:422 and I just can't find it anywhere. any suggestions?
