View Full Version : [ubuntu] [SOLVED] Disapearing menu fonts in OpenOffice

Hi guys,

been without a computer for some time now but as soon as i heard 8.10 was out i installed it. :) im quite happy with it and even got my sister to use it too :). but we are experiencing a problem with OpenOffice the color of the fonts in the menu bar where there is "File, Edit, View" keeps blinking if u drg uour poiter really fast over them but stays "invisible" most of the time.

anyone know how to fix that?

I have seeing another thread regarding this problem, on the Argentina local group.
Here is the thread: Menus y ventanas sin texto (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=973304).

Apparently the solution is to disable Desktop Effects.

there is a better work-around (which allows you to keep desktop effects):
disable the Screen fonts anti-aliasing option in the Options dialog.
This setting is under OpenOffice.org-->View settings (see attached screenshot)
