Hi guys,

i have just installed a game and i been told that i need to check if composite is enabled..
1. how to check this?
2. if not enabled how to enable it?

i have installed the proper nvidia driver already..

surry for the dumb question...

If compiz is running composite is enabled.

go to synaptic through administrator and type in compiz. if it's installed, it'll have a green button lit up, if not, click the check sign, it'll ask to install, select yes, then go to "ok" at the top (a green check... i'm at work on a windows machine and i'm writing this from memory and i'm totally new to Ubuntu myself, so if I'm kinda wrong, sorry :) )

compiz enables better graphics handling and adds a bit of pizzaz to your desktop experience. i'm pretty sure compiz is what allows for the "cube" desktop.
