Install new version (Do I install on top of old version)

Can I just do a dpkg of a new version of this without removing the old version?
BTW, great work. I like what I see so far...:)

nevermind I just removed the old version and installed the new one.
the network connection manager looks different. I like!:)
Cool to see the signal strength indicator on the top bar.
