Hi there,

My problem is that I installed ubuntu on to my new rig and it wont boot unless I disconnect my hardisks from my raid card!

The screen will just stay black!

I am using a generic IDE ATA 133 RAID-card that uses a siliconImage Chip.

The disks are fine as XP has no problem detecting it, I tried several different BIOS settings but it doesn't help.

I suspecting I should compile a custom Kernel for this but not sure.

I tried looking for drivers but unsuccessful so far!

BTW: My Rig,
Asus M2A-MX
Athlon X2-5000
2x 512MB ram
40GB Sata drive with Ubuntu
2x 400GB on raidcard <--- to be used with Samba (So windows computers can use my files)

Thanx in advance

What do you mean the screen stays black? At what point does it go black? And what kind of card is this? "Generic" does not provide any information. Who makes it, what model is it?
