[SOLVED] Regarding :- New ubuntu 8.01

My friend told me that. just download the ubuntu and burn it.
put the cd in the drive in windows itself without rebooting.
it will start running the setup. you just choose the disk where it will install all the things. make sure the disk is empty.
after installing, reboot you can select the Operating system to work.

my system configuration
c: windows 70GB
d: my files 70GB
e: my files 70GB
f: my files 70GB
e: DVD/CD writer

could you please clarify on this. i am ready to give one drive expect windows for linux and i am looking to work on it.

i have downloaded and installed in f:

after installing and rebooting i am getting this as below could you please help me to continue?

i need normal ubuntu desktop and to work with. i could not understand the problem

hi i have selected the live Cd and i worked on that.
after that when i reboot it asked whether i want to install. I said yes. so it installed the Linux. after reboot.
i got stuck in the screen after loading " cupid " like that.

could you please help me continue.:confused:

Can you boot the livecd and open a terminal form the Apps > accessories menu - paste in these commands one at a time and post the results here please

Hi My Ubuntu worked fine yesterday without any problem and it logged it fine.
But when i restart. It gave the problem like this
Loading the CMON but it is getting wait.
when i press cntrl+Alt+del
it goes to the login screen and i can log into it.
One more thing. If i open a movie. it opens runs but the screen gets flickers. i could not see a proper in proper. sound is doing good.:confused:
