Alsa X-Fi Support???

I've been reading everywhere that recently Alsa now supports creative labs x-fi cards, but I just loaded the latest version of Alsa and I'm still having trouble getting my card to work.

Any advice from anyone?

is 8.10 better at handling SoundBlaster sound cards than 8.04?

Just in case you never found the answer to this, X-Fi support isn't in ALSA. You have to download and compile the driver specifically from Creative.
