Hello! I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 over the weekend, along with a fresh install of wine. I got Steam up and running, and everything so far has been checking out OK save for two issues.

First is that I cant browse my virtual C:\ drive, when I got to click on it in Applications-->Wine-->Browse C:\, nothing happens. Everything else works, such as note pad, and the gecko version of I.E.

The second has to do with steam, I have the latest version of Wine, but I minimized the app while it was downloading, and a little down-loader icon is in the upper right of my screen, nothing happens when I click on it, its paused at 16% download, and when I try to run steam, it acts like its loading and then disappears. I recognise that this was an issue in older versions of Wine when steam would just crash. Upon reboot, its a wash-rinse-repeat problem.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

P.S: I am quickly prefering Ubuntu to Sabayon. Its nice.

Dunno why browse:\C isn't working for you, but it's just a shortcut to open the file yourhome/.wine/drive_c in a file browser. You can simply open a file browser and go there yourself as a work-around.
