I find amarok to be real confusing, is there any lightweight music player for kde4?

even i am not a KDE user, i can say amarok is one of the favorites even under Gnome ... but maybe you would like to have a look at this site, has a list with few KDE players (just googled it out)

http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdebase-runtime/userguide/playing-music.html

Well i like pretty much all gnome defualt applications, only reason i use kde4 is that it is a lot more responsive and firefox doesn't seem to scroll like a snail and stop the music when it does.

You can try xmms (which is comparable to winamp) or venen more lightweight: mpg123 (in the console)

I think that Audacious (http://http://audacious-media-player.org/) is the right player for you.

sudo aptitude install audacious

Amarok while nice is not lightweight. The quickest I've found is realplayer followed by xmms
