hi i was into effects and trying to get 3d effects but i get a box saying 3d effects not enabled how do i do this please im trying to get the rotating cube effect and then ill move on from there

Enable your graphic card in System > Administration > Hardware Drivers.

Also go to System->Preferences->Appearance->Visual Effects
Try to enable them there. If they will not enable and you cannot enable your card the post the output of this command which you can type into a terminal
lshw -C display

im not seeing the option in system settings it use to be compiz or somthing you have enable i made sure it is installed...any idea? I checked hardware drivers and says no proprietary hardware divers found?

thanks done that driver downloaded now how do i get the cube on screen and decide what is on each side of cube

figured it out...go to add remove programs and do a search for compiz manager...or you can just use terminal
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
