Eschalon Book 1 from basiliskgames.com is a pretty nice old-school RPG. You can download the linux demo of it from their website, $20 for the whole game.

im assuming by rpg, you mean single player.

There are a bunch of old stype 2d, or top down games, im not going to mention them since im not familiar with them.

For native, the big one is neverwinter nights 1...it can be a little tricky to install, but its native, and a huge game considering all the user generated content and add ons. The platinum edition (game plus 3 expansion packs) is about $20USD, so its cheap too...of course, its old, 2002...its not horribly graphically, but its certainly not going to give you an oblivion fix....still, its a very deep, very big rpg...a lot of people on these forums would put it high up on the list for games on linux, and at the very top for linux rpg's.

For wine, just check out winehq to find out what works, and what doesnt. Oblivion either works, or is close to running, but my experience is that it runs worse than under windows, and for my machine, that made it unplayable. Diablo2 runs great, but once again old.

I've never tried it, but fable is listed as gold under wine...that was a fun game when I played it under windows. It also looks like the witcher runs with some tweaks, never played that one, but it at least looks interesting.

im sure some others can come along and give you some suggestions.

btw, if you cant tell from my suggestions, im more of a western swords and sorcery rpg fan, if your more into the japanese style, or postapocalyptic, then my suggestions wont help too much....good luck with your search!

Nevereinter Nights I and Eschalon are good native RPG's and wine should support NWN 2 fine (didn't play it though, my computer is just too old for it)

And I have also played Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 in Wine with absolutely no problems and Fable with just minor glitches...

hope this helps you...
