I have read a few threads regarding this issue but they were either pre Intrepid solutions or otherwise n/a.

I am trying to install the ATI/AMD Propriatary FGLRX graphics driver. The driver works fine, however upon restarting my system my resolution is automatically set to a resolution my monitor will not display. (magnavox hd tv monitor) It can only display 1024 x 768 or a few other virtual resolutions. The only way to fix this is to run the repair option from grub which uninstalls the driver.

What is the proper way to manually change the resolution in Intrepid using terminal? Thanks in advance.

Alrighty I couldn't figure out how to manually do this so I used an old CRT monitor and set the resolution back down to 1024x768_60 and everything works fine now whenever I use my HDTV monitor.

Thanks to everybody who read the post and tried to come up with a solution.
