Gnome terminal? Edit menu > Current Profile > Effects tab > Transparent
Edit: Although the screenshot doesn't look like gnome...

That's just the gnome-terminal. Right-click>Edit current profile>Effects tab>tick Transparent background and move the slider.

For borderless and/or truly transparent ones, see this (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=81727).
(The one in that screenshot is definitely gnome-terminal; note the icon on the upper left.)

I think the user has just removed the menus added custom drawers. You can add drawers by right clicking the Gnome panel, choosing "add to panel" and selecting "Drawer" from there.

it looks like one of them is a dos prompt too  i just put a draw on one of the panels. i still haven't clicked on all the sub-menus yet, i'll have to spend some more time going through things. thanks for all the help.

no it's not gnome, i think it's fedora but i'm not sure. i found it in this forum somewhere. It is gnome...ubuntu-breezy. Look at what the terminal says. It tells you the gtk and metacity (You won't find that metacity anywhere, as it is one I am working on) themes being used.

One of them is simply a launcher for gnome-terminal. You can add launchers from the "add to panel" window as well.

Fitts Law is no law because there is no law that make Fitts a law in user preference desktop land :p If you'd like to complain, go tell people to stop making 1px border mcity themes, instead of commenting at someone that makes 3px and 4px border themes with maximized buttons at 0 and has never even read Fitts law ;)

yeah, i noticed it's ubuntu. it's only from a thread on this subforum. it says what it is there but i can't find it now :( themes are so much easier with gnome compared to XP.
