Updating to 8.10 causes firefox to be slower, specifically flash and javascript

I recently upgraded ubuntu to 8.10 (from 8.04) but now firefox is running more slowly. Sometime youtube videos won't even show up (everything shows up besides the video) and google reader sometimes stops working. Does anybody have any ideas about how to make firefox run better?

You could try using swiftfox instead
