I recently updated to Intrepid from my Hardy install. Before this my Geforce 8800 Graphics card worked with no issues whatsoever. However, after upgrading to Intrepid I no no longer able to initialise my graphics card.

Everytime I restart my computer after initialising drivers for my card I get the following error just before the boot screen;

Failed to Initialize NVIDIA kernel module............No compatible monitor found.

I then have to revert my drivers and use Ubuntu in low graphics mode.

I have tried various different drivers (version 177, 173 etc.) but I have had the same problem with each of them.

Is there a simple fix for this? I like simple!
