our company has lots wireless AP with same ssid. on ubuntu network manager, only ssid names can be specified and it seems to chose the nearest one. but the problem here is sometime wireless AP around me is not working well. So, I have to chose another one. in windows, dell provide some applications that It shows all wireless AP, even with same ssid and I can chose it from them.

do you has any suggestion that I can achieve same thing in ubuntu?

I think wicd will do the trick for you. It involves uninstalling network-manager though.
