View Full Version : Ordering from Ubuntu Shop

On Friday 10/31/2008 I ordered an Ubuntu lanyard and hoodie. It has been stuck in "Regular Address Ver" status since then. I emailed customer service but have not heard anything. Does it normally take them this long to process orders?

This was only 4 days ago - Whereabouts do you live? If it's internationally (from the store location), they're probably verifying your address.

Also remember that weekends are not working days - so you should discount those 2 days :)

I am in the USA , Florida to be exact. I understand that weekends are not business days but I am just so damn excited to get my gear I am jumping the gun a little bit :)

Heh, understandable. Did you order from the USA shop? The normal shop is based over here in the UK I think.

Also - which hoody did you order? The brown one with the small logo, or the black one with a huge Ubuntu logo? :)

I'm interested in getting the brown one, so would like to know what it's like

Yeah It was the US Shop. Ill give it a few days and then check back in here.

I've ordered about 3 or 4 times gear and accessories from the canonical shop and never had any problems (I'm from Portugal, so I order from UK shop).

Yeah It was the US Shop. Ill give it a few days and then check back in here.

Any word on your order? I was considering ordering a couple of things for presents for a couple of friends who recently took the plunge.

I bought 20 ubuntu 9.04 CD's from the US ubuntu shop last thursday, and I don't even know if my order was processed. I sent an email to customer services yesterday... and still don't know the status of my order.
It seems that people are getting their free cd's through shipit much faster.

Can anyone help me or inform me about the following:

When I want to order something from the ubuntu shop and I'm filling out the shipment information, I notice on the page where I have to confirm my order the following notice:

Should there be any customs charges for your shipment it will be the recipients responsibility to pay these, and not the responsibility of Canonical or Merchandise Mania Ltd.

I would like to know what I can expect with this. Because this way I'm never sure what my total bill will be. It's shipped from UK to Belgium. Are they talking about douane or something? I'm not sure to proceed my order since I'm not prepared to pay 100 euro when I receive because of some problems that I'm not responsble of.

Maybe someone, also from Europe, has some experience with this?
