Hello all,

I have to scan a lot of photos and if I would scan all of them separately it would take ages, so I'll scan several photos simultaneously. But then the manual segmentation (with GIMP for example) would also take a lot of time, since I need each photo in a separate file.

My question is -- is there any linux software, which could do this job for me? Namely, to recognize objects in one image and to save them in separate files?

Googling didn't work, because query which contains words "linux" and "segmentation" gives me only segmentation fault results :lolflag:.

Thanks for any help in advance!

you might be able to use imagemagick to split up one large image of several photos into smaller single ones.......if you scan the images in a uniform array and they are all of the same size you could use something like the following
