New PHP6

I noticed PHP6 is up & coming, is it available for Ubuntu 8.10 yet?

What's the advantage with php6???

Do you really want to try a new version of Php after all the problems you had with mono?

I'd wait 6 months after it has been released before putting it into production.

I was hoping someone had a sandbox machine to test it out on.

I do not have that luxury so I have to do things the hard way as usual.

One advantage though, I have accumulated a huge pool of knowledge here that has really helped me get a grip on running a Linux box based on Ubuntu. There are a lot of idiosyncrasies.

I figured with version 8, when I downloaded it after giving up on Windows Server. It would have a good pool of users who have got it figured out.

PHP6 is new, and still a work in progress, so I thought I would inquire here. Also did that over at phpBB in case it breaks that application.
