So, I've installed the mPlayer plugin for firefox, because it plays almost every file type without any problems, but when it comes to streaming mp3's in firefox it opens a new page and plays the mp3-file, in a rather unpleasant looking "player".... I would like to override the mPlayer plugin's monopoly for streaming mp3's and let old trusty totem do the job instead. Mainly because it opens the mp3-file in the totem application itself, and lets me browse on in firefox with any disturbance, I've tried the preference tab in firefox and located the mp3(streamed) and changed it to another player but it didn't work(not even after a restart of firefox). And I also tried to mark it as "always ask", but that didn't help either... mPlayer still opens the mp3-files as default. Any one has a solution to this?
