Hello, I am running Ubuntu 8.04 with all the updates.
When I try to play an .mp3 or watch a video on my pc or youtube the sound/video will just hang for sometime and then come back.
Even when I open the PC sometimes the ubuntu boot sound plays for just a bit (like half the sound) and then after a minute or so it continues from where it left.
It also happened to me with other Linux OS I used.

My PC is a : P4 2.8GHZ, 2gb RAM, ATI 3850 512MB, on-board sound card, an Albatron PX865 I think (or smth like that)

Any ideas on what can I do about it? I really want to use ubuntu as it fits my needs perfectly but I hate it if I have to reboot to listen to music or watch a DVD (plus sometimes I want to work on my PC and listen to music at the same time)

Thank you,
Nick
