I'm new to this pre-Alpha stuff. If I find any bugs should they still be reported on launchpad or here first.

File your bug with Launchpad--make sure that you note it is with Jaunty. Then post it here so we can see it & avoid or help to fix it :)

Launchpad would be my guess. Definitely not here

And add to it.:)

Yes--and posting it here sometimes really helps everyone else--I've been able to avoid a reinstall a couple of times by reading the posts before clicking <install>:guitar:

Thanks for the swift replies. If I find a bug in Jaunty maybe I should check it occurs with Intrepid as well (especially seeing as Intrepid has only just been released).

If you ask me, i think the Final of Intrepid is a mess. I did a fresh install with the Final and i now have issues i didn't have during the later Alpha's through RC.

Although this is not the place to report bugs it is good to "sound out" if a bug is isolated to you or wide spread, I find you have to word your question correctly otherwise the perception of bug reporting on this forum happens & on occasions over zealous folks jump on you from great heights. Sometimes the fix/workaround comes from within this forum but that also has to be fed back to launchpad as well.

Very good points mate---As the saying goes---"been there--done that"

There are several annoying little bugs that I'm hoping will be fixed shortly. Unfortunately, we no longer have a special 8.10 dedicated forum where we can discuss this - personally I think the Intrepid development forum should have remained open for another few weeks or so as significant bugs still remain. Yes, I know the line has to be drawn and the version released (always in an unfinished state, of course, as with all software) but I think the dedicated forum could/should be open a little longer.

+1 I felt the install of Kubuntu 64bit I did yesterday was very premature & buggy, A few weeks of polishing would not go astray.
