I have the same problem on a new HP G60. Apparently there are suspend/hibernate resume issues with Hardy and Intrepid. Some people get their laptops to work after modifying files and some do not so whatever fixes there are, none work universally. I don't think the bug fix folks see it is a critical issue so from what I have read over the last month no fix is imminent. I hope they fix it soon. Not being able to suspend was a deal killer for me so on my laptop I went back to Vista. Otherwise I have been a happy Ubuntu user for almost 3 years.

Hey I'm having same problem with Dell XPS 1530

Pls help me in getting extra effects on ubuntu.
my graphics card is 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
After installing nvidia_glx-new(5 mb)driver (as recommended )& enabling hardware application. & restarting no login window found everything was blur.

Pls help
