hi everyone.
now that 8.10 is out and it has LTS and 8.04 also has LTS, will there be separate sections in the forum for people to ask their questions?
one section for 8.04 and one section for 8.10. because a lot of people will probably keep 8.04 for some time.

Hi and I believe that 8.10 is not LTS (long term support). I do not believe also there is a need to have a separate forum as under the hood is basically the same.

the ubuntu website says that 8.10 is supported until 2010 and 8.04 until 2011. that is fairly longterm. but you are probably right that they are basecly the same and may not need to be separate.

Hi and I assume this is the info you are speaking of
http://www.ubuntu.com/products/ubuntu/release-cycle
As you can see 8.10 Intrepid will have support for 18 months
Hardy is supported for 3yrs and 5yrs for servers.:)
