I did a google search for topics relating to ubuntu and came across a link that looked interesting. After getting the information I was looking for I clicked the home page to the forum which went to http://ph.ubuntuforums.com/index.php
I first noticed that I couldn't stay logged in.
Should this site be listed in google?

There are many URI's like that. Just use ubuntuforums.org, the others redirect here (some have uses).
If you find something on google. and it has such a uri, just delete the first part.

The forums will take any subdomain thrown at them:
http://adsfuahvweoiuaghri.ubuntuforums.org/
However, some of them redirect to certain forums, usually LoCo forums:
http://ohio.ubuntuforums.org/

Should I be able to login with the subdomains?

Wouldn't recommend it. It might work, but there are some problems with cookies and registration.
