Failing sanity check

Hi.

I'm trying to install gsmartcontrol, but when running ./configure this is what I get:


checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check

Do I need to install something else first?
