6 months until the Jaunty Jackalope is here!

Agh! Dont remind me. That means development starts again in a few weeks. At least we get our month break between Final Freeze (where we cant do anything) and the new toolchain being uploaded (we cant do anything until that is done).

Mmm... New X server and kernel with DRI2 and GEM.

Might we see Plymouth as our bootsplash?
Could the graphical login manager make it?

I'll be testing from alpha on.

Slick boot+1 here! My company installs Ubuntu and provides support and I perfectly know what matters for our clients :)

I would love to see Plymouth as the boot splash with the ability to smoothly transition to GDM without all this flickering we currently have.

Looks like development's begun already - I'm on Jaunty now, and the testing forum's opened again.

Clearing up some of the latest hardware regressions would help matters.
