Hi there.
I just got my logic board back after having the gpu repaired. At the same time I thought I'd replace the 20gb drive with a 120gb item.
Now, I noticed that the jumper setting on the new drive were reversed i.e. where the cable would select master on the old drive, it would make the new one a slave. So I flicked the CD rom drive to master. When I re assembled, and booted up, the drive isn't recognized?
I've tried holding C when booting, and all I get is the ? in a folder thing.
Tried reseting the PRAM, no luck. Also holding down option while rebooting. That didn't show HDD or CD?
I bought this ibook off ebay, and it came with tiger install disks(also had tiger loaded). The disks look like they are copies, and I'm worried they might be from an intel based mac, and that might be why I cant see the CD?
So I might consider ubuntu, though I really liked tiger(for the week I used it before the gpu failed) I wouldn't want to lose any of the laptops features by switching to another OS.
Thanks
Specs: ibook G3 700mhz dual usb, 16mb vram, 640mb RAM, CD rom
