I just decided to try out VirtualBox since I haven't been able to find Linux solutions to a few of my computer needs. A few things like my TV tuner card and camera don't work too well in linux and were always easy to use in XP so i figured why not run a Virtual Machine?

Here's my main problem. My TV tuner obviously needs sound. It's pretty essential to enjoy television or make recordings worth while. Problem is I also enjoy having sound in Linux as I like my media player there so much more than in Windows. So far whenever i boot up my windows Virtual install Ubuntu loses sounds and won't play music or movies. It fixes itself when i shutdown the Virtual machine, but the point was to keep XP running all the time so my TV tuner could record my favorite shows and what not.

Does anyone know if it's even possible to have sound in both at the same time? I feel like it's just a setting in Ubuntu i need to fix because for the longest time I couldn't play youtube videos while my media player was open either.

I have a few other issues to work out but that is the main one. I want to see if i can get it taken care of before i spend too much time working on the others.

Thanks in advance folks,
