ubuntu 8.10 apt-get quetion

I'm trying to run the following on 8.10

sudo apt-get install patch

The system comes back with:

E: Couldn't find package patch


Is this because 8.10 isn't officially released yet and is there any way around it?

Maybe try changing the server you use under Software Sources (System>Admin>Software Sources) you should have no problem downloading it. If you want you can also download it manually and install it from here (http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/patch)
