Jaunty Jackelope, love, hate, or indifferent?
It's the name of the new release btw.

It's a Jackalope; it doesn't exist.

I'm with gn2. I think it's easy to identify the releases by the names, but they sound stupid so I use the numbers.

I like jaunty better than intrepid. How the hell do I pronounce that?

I actually think Intrepid Ibex rocks. :D
But Jaunty Jackalope... Don't hate nor love it.

I just hope they make a better job of the product than Intrepid. For me at least my Intrepid experience was poor. Jaunty Jakalope is an OK name. although I do wonder if 'Jetty Jackrabbit' or 'Jocular Janitor' might have been more fun....

What is in a name?
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

A jackalope is a rabbit with a disfiguring viral disease. I can't imagine a worse name for any project.

I really don't care for the names either like some people... mostly refer to the build number like 8.04 or 8.10. Jaunty Jackelope is kind of funny though... I prefer Gutsy Gibbon or some of the other names. By the way why do they have the first two letters of each word the same?? (8.04 is H then H, 8.10 is G then G) I believe they do it all the time.

I don't like most of the names. But I tend to use the numbers instead.

Ditto to this, 8.10 is a lot less keystrokes than Intrepid Ibex.

I'm waiting for the next round with the hope it'll be based on the Gashlycrumb Tinies.

We've been jumping back and forth already in the alphabet (Warty Warthog, Breezy Badger), so instead of looking for a 'K' alliteration (Killer Koala?) for 9.10, I've got a few other suggestions:
Viral Vista
Mocking Microsoft
Whiny Windows
Awful Apple ;) (I actually quite like OS X, just not enough to ditch Linux for)
and my personal favourite: Barmy Ballmer :D

I get a similar impression. After what I've read, while I understand that the jackalope myth is only said to be based on sightings of rabbits carrying this disease, the damage has already been done to my mind. So when you mention a jackalope, I think of a rabbit with grotesque, jagged tumors growing out of its face, instead of a cute little bunny with horns. :/

I don't like the way Ubuntu versions itself in general, and it's code names.
I'm a "2.6.4" kinda guy.

I think Jaunty Jackalope sounds stupid. I liked Feisty Fawn, Hardy Heron, and Intrepid Ibex a lot though.

Jaunty Jackelope is just about the coolest Ubuntu name I could want. In fact, I may have to switch from Linux Mint to Ubuntu just for the name. but then again, I'm biased (see my user name) :)
