i've got to say i'm thoroughly impressed with Pupeee (http://www.puppylinux.org/wiki/hardware/general/eeepc) on my eeepc. it is by far the best distro i've tried on it. it's not much different than regular puppy other than it has all the required drivers. and since it all loads into ram anyway, it can be installed on any old flash drive.

it is absolutely lightning fast on my 2G Surf. apps open almost instantly. it even comes with most codecs and flash.

besides being an awesome lightweight distro, it also makes for a great recovery live cd since it will mount anything with ease with automatic root privileges.

anyone else use it on their eeepc? or at all?

I use Puppy as part of my test disk for old laptops. It wouldn't be my first choice if I had an Eee however, since I like Arch more for installation. :(
