I have a question, I have the pc version of heretic 2, is there a way I can put it into ubuntu. I read some of the information on the forums, and its not clear.

Thanks.

You can use the Doomsday Engine (http://www.doomsdayhq.com/).
Here (http://gdoomsday.sourceforge.net/)'s a front-end for it.

That won't work. Heretic 2 uses the Quake 2 engine.

Just put the CD in and install it in Wine. Worked perfectly for me.

So wine is what I have to use then?

Yeah, wine would be the only option if you have the windows version as the game was ported to Linux as is still for sale (if you wanted it to run native). I had bought the Windows version years ago in a bargain bin, but never got too far with it. By the time I wanted to play it, I ended up buying the Linux version as I didn't game in Windows anymore at that time.

I used to play Heretic II with my old machine, which had ubuntu. Worked with wine perfectly!
