Hi there

I want to install Mythbuntu on my PC (for recording tv, playing movies etc..), I wanted to check to see if my hardware is supported (specifically the tv tuners) so i decided to run a live CD and do some testing. I get CD to boot and get the options to install or boot into the live CD etc.. but when i select the live CD, it loads to a screen with an number of horizontal lines (gray lines on the lcd monitor and orange and green lines on the CRT tv).

I think it is probably a video problem as the system does not lock up i can easily get the live cd to shut down by pressing the power button and it prompts me to remove the cd (that screen is legible).

I have tried the ubuntu live cd too and get the same thing.

any suggestions?

I would love to give windows media center with all its DRM and stability problems the flick.

PS my Linux knowledge is limited but i am keen to learn

cheers

Phil
