How come Ubuntu doesn't make a kubuntu wallpaper as well? They're just using the default KDE4.1 wallpaper. Kubuntu definitely needs a little more love!

Well the people who develop Kubuntu are a different team, but there are a whole bunch on DeviantArt. :)

It's up to the Art team to create wallpaper's. But in the end, you never end up using the default wallpapers for very long. The internet is your friend :)

Way too blue.. Maybe lighten it a bit, and avoid making everything blue.

I actually like that a lot, xoger.

Don't you mean KDE-Look? ;)

I'm well aware of deviantArt and GNOME/KDE-Look... I think it's half-assed they put ZERO effort into it. Well, maybe it's for the best. They tried for the GNOME wallpaper and look what happened. :)

I think a lot of people look at the wallpaper first when they view a new release. It sets the overall 'theme' and mood of the release and generates interest and excitement (similar to what Oxygen did for KDE). So in my humble opinion, it's not ideal to think that no one ever uses the default wallpaper so there's no point in trying.

EDIT: xoger, any way I could get that in 1280x800? (a widescreen version - I could always scale it myself :) )

I get the point though. Kubuntu is very vanilla KDE, whilst ubuntu isn't vanilla gnome.

The icon in ubuntu isn't the foot, there's an ubuntu logo in the corner.
There is a special wallpaper just for ubuntu.

Kubuntu has the K icon for the menu and the default wallpaper.

I also wish it weren't so vanilla, though I love KDE.
