Hi all,
I realize this might be more of a general ubuntu question than an apple related one but I am using the Apple Remote (which works out of the box thank you very much) and I figured this might be a good place to start.

So I have the Apple Remote Control and it works fine with most application. I even got it configure so that the menu key will start amarok or display it if it's already running. The Gnome Multimedia script in Amarok works well.
But here it is, I use Mplayer as a video player and lets say I want to watch a movie and use the remote to start it. I wanna be able to stop (or pause) amarok, switch application (if mplayer is already running) or start mplayer and play a file. All this using the remote as much as I can.
Basically I'm wondering if there is some sort of software that would allow me to do something like setting the menu button to do a Alt-Tab, the arrows to move around in it from an app to an other and then if I press play it will play in that app and not the others.
Am I making sense ?
Sort of like OSX's multimedia menu I guess, maybe not as advanced but you get the idea.

So is there anything out there that would do that ?
Thanks for all answers and suggestions.
